           The Department envisions empowering the students through quality education in Zoology and related areas by combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills leading to holistic development of students and enabling them to face challenges in the world.

MISSION

❖  To encourage the spirit of creativity, enquiry, intellectual capacity and research in Zoology

❖  To have a Collaboration with leading academic, industrial and research organizations for promoting research enthusiasm among the faculty and students.

OBJECTIVES

❖  To drill majority of rural students in a wide range of science-based skills that provide the learning base for future careers in disciplines, research and management such as health science, aquaculture, animal husbandry, environmental management and animal biotechnology.

❖  Provide quality education and introduce the spirit of resource conservation and love for nature.

❖  To motivate the students for self-employment in various applied branches of zoology.

❖  Impart value-based education and make them members of civil society and provide opportunities for professional and personal development through curricular and co-curricular activities.

❖   To conduct field studies through projects in the various aspects such as Fisheries, Biodiversity and Wild life, Insects collection, Poultry farms and dairy farms etc.

❖  To offer associated seminars and practical classes, Community service projects, In-House projects and Semester end projects supported by supervisions where appropriate.
